If words could engage the world around us, to which we explore and better understand culture, society, and ultimately ourselves, would you SPEAK?
Speak combines documented footage and live performances of youth poets who compete in Hamilton’s first and only slam, Hamilton Youth Poetry Slam (HYP-Slam). This is a bridge for people from all neighbourhoods, socio economic statuses, races and cultures to come together and better understand on another. SPEAK, you’ll find a diverse range of work, including heartfelt love poetry, searing social commentary, comic routines, and bittersweet personal confessions…because one of the best things about Hamilton is the range of artists and artistic work it attracts.
