A Realtime Activities experience is at times a presentation referencing some of Reg Moore’s favourite artists and innovators. Realtime events pay homage to various practitioners and industry pioneers (Muybridge, Brakhage, Whitney) by alluding to or incorporating their works into Realtime’s own site-specific media creations before live, often times interactive viewers.
Realtime enjoys “collaborating” with these various artists, presenting their works in an altered format through live, time-based projection-art. Realtime turns the clock back and forth with shout-outs to eclectic moments and personalities in motion picture, photography, animation, music and popular culture. Using the existing site and manipulating it, Realtime creates installations that are a visual feast for the average individual and a delight to the more seasoned viewer who recognizes Realtime’s incorporation of such ground-breaking works as “Moth Light”, “Rhythmus 21”, “Dog Star Man”, and “Matrix III”, to name a few.
A Realtime installation is both a fabulous live event and a compelling expression of art. Like many emerging artforms, projection-art has gained momentum in a steadily-growing underground movement in various parts of Europe and North America. Providing light installations for many different purposes and applications, Realtime has been actively involved and honing his craft in this ever evolving artform since 2009.
