20th Anniversary Fundraiser Party!

Thursday, July 25th | 7 – 11PM

366 Victoria Avenue North, Hamilton ON.

Factory Media Centre is thrilled to celebrate its 20th anniversary with an evening of art and music!

Since 2004, FMC has served the Hamilton arts community as a resource for artists working with time-based art forms. Over two decades, staff, board members and volunteers have worked tirelessly to maintain our presence in Hamilton as an accessible artist-run centre and gallery. Support our continuing work by donating to FMC, and attending our 20th anniversary party!

The celebration will include the exhibition opening reception for current &NOW Artist-in-Residence Ardyn Gibbs, an Open Lab hosted by local artist collective OPTIKS, local DJs Dunaway and Rental Joy spinning dance music, and a cash bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks!

Ardyn Gibbs (they/them) is a queer and trans, settler-Indigenous (Mohawk) artist and arts worker located on the territories of the Haudenosaunee, Anishnaabe, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation otherwise known as Hamilton, ON. Using digital new media technologies Ardyn’s work explores themes of queer futurism, digital dreaming, and visibility/legibility of queer bodies in public spaces. Ardyn is passionate about collective dreaming, placekeeping, and fostering meaningful connections. Their work is constantly changing, adapting and growing with the world around them.

OPTICKS is an experimental projection/light art initiative based in Hamilton, ON.

We’re excited to welcome OPTICKS in our space for a special Open Lab pop-up to encourage experimentation in installation art! Throughout the night, artists from OPTICKS will be setting up immersive light and projection art. Visitors are invited to interact with the installations, or simply just hang out and enjoy the visuals. All backgrounds and interest levels are welcome!
