Partnerships
Our community partnerships encourage collaboration and allow us to further cultivate and support a vibrant, sustainable, and diverse creative community.
Factory Media Centre is Hamilton’s not-for-profit artist-driven resource centre for film, video, new media, installation, sound art, and other multimedia art forms. Through our community partnerships we encourage collaboration with local organizations or individuals who require access to professional media equipment, studio space, or media skills to produce programs to benefit the greater community.

Upon the review of a proposed community partnership project, FMC staff or board will schedule a meeting with the project leader to determine the details and level of involvement of FMC for the project. FMC recognition for the community partnership project should include a verbal or written description of our support, and logo on promotional material for the project. All partnerships must also provide high-quality documentation (images, video or sound) for FMC website, archives, publication and grant applications.
Due to high request volumes, FMC must limit the number of community partnerships per year and may decline partnership requests if the necessary equipment and human resources is unavailable. Partnerships typically take a minimum of 3 weeks to organize before the start date of the project. Priority will be given to projects which bridge the gap between knowledge production in the gallery and access to artistic resources in the community.
