Factory Media Centre (FMC) is seeking a friendly detail-oriented individual to provide administrative, archival, programming, marketing and operations support to the Operations Coordinator.

Assistant Art Gallery Administrator Job Details:

Start Date: June 19, 2023
Term: 30 hours/week for 9 weeks
Wage: $16/hour
Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing the gallery on time, monitoring attendance, engaging visitors, providing information on FMC’s programs/upcoming events
- Maintain FMC’s rental equipment, facilitate rentals to members and check incoming equipment, reporting any issues to the Administrator
- Website maintenance including regular program advertizements, assisting with website operational improvements, providing archival updates to the FMC website.
- Monitoring social media, engaging with online audience, communicating information on FMC’s programs/upcoming events
- Upkeep of membership databases, mailing lists, and FMC’s organizational/digital archives and filing systems
Qualifications:
- Meet the criteria for Canada Summer Jobs Program: are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible); are legally entitled to work in Canada; and are between the ages of 15-30 at the start of employment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills: social media, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite; Quickbooks, Zoom, WordPress and/or Mailchimp considered an asset
- Knowledge of contemporary media art and Canadian artist-run centres, and the local art scene
- Ability to effectively multi-task within a fast-paced environment, independently as well as in a team setting
- Proficiency in French considered an asset
